How to make a Vision Board (2025)
It’s December, which means a lot of things - the end of the semester, the holidays, etc- but what it means is that the year will be over.
Looking at my past vision board for 2024, I have accomplished a lot, like becoming a novice photographer, getting my dream internship that I got denied twice before, and getting into my creative side, like reading, writing, and painting way more. I have also started to learn French again and have made great connections and friendships. It is a change from me in January 2024, when I was working for a scam job - story for another time.
Not as things were completed on my vision board. I did not get my license this year—it will be done in the next few months, I promise—and with that, I did not get a car.
Here are some tips on how to make a vision board:
Write down your goals.
Take out any notebook or journal, even a piece of paper. Write 2025 at the center of the page then circle it. Write different goals around the year, and know lines from the word to the circle, if the main goal has a quantities goal, e.g. losing 20 pounds. THESE GOALS NEED TO BE ACHIEVABLE. You can add goals that you want in the far future, like a house that you are saving up for but you need to have goals that can be done in a year. Having a visual of your handwriting, makes it so personal, in my opinion, because I see it as a contract.
Pick out how you are going to display your board and gather photos.
Do you want a physical board or do you want a digital board?
For physical boards, you can buy a vision board book with pictures and cut them out, or you can go online to search for photos—Pinterest is a great way to gather your photos—and print them. Other items will include a poster board, scissors, and glue.
A digital board is a popular option because people like to display their vision board on their desktops as wallpaper (I am people). It is usually easier to get done since you can make it on your own on a website like Canva and just drag and drop the photos you have collected.
