What I’m Excited About for the New Semester
The spring semester started two weeks ago, and this is the last spring semester for my bachelor’s degree. This semester, I am going into my creative journey, taking mostly project-based classes.
As I read The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron, I realized that I have certain hobbies that I would like to learn. So, I started with Photography last semester, and now I am taking a Photoshop Basics class, a Ceramics class, a Basic Software for Designs Class, and an Intro to Dance class. I have some knowledge of Photoshop, so I would like to get to know the application better and learn how to make some cool stuff for the basics class. The Basics of Software Design class is a prerequisite of the Typography class that I would like to learn about next semester, but I like that we are learning Illustrator and InDesign. Ceramics is a class that I wanted to do once I found out about it from a friend last semester, it seems very interesting to learn about clay and the process of making something with it. My dance class is something that I was nervous about taking. I am not a dancer at all, and we will be dancing salsa in this class!
I am taking two other classes that are more degree-based, Organizational Performance Management and Intermediate French. I have two interests in the field of Psychology, which are Industrial Organization Psychology and Neuropsychology. In this class, I will be focusing on the industrial side because my last semester’s course list was very neuroscience-heavy. Intermediate French is the third French class that I have taken. My French learning journey may conclude this semester…. unless I choose to take another grammar class or something.
This is my first time having mainly project-based classes. My plan of action is to get the project done as soon as possible after it has been assigned, It gives me time to understand what the steps are for using the applications, and if I have any questions I can email my professors, instead of procrastinating, especially since these classes are once a week classes.
